FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions To stay at Gautama, is it necessary to participate in a group? No, particularly now that we have so many different spaces. The house is big and we are really happy to have it full of friends! Independently from groups and other residential programs, you can stay in the commune as long as you like, as a guest, sleeping in the dormitory or renting a single or a double room. You can stay here doing absolutely nothing, just enjoying the energy of the commune, of the woods and the lake. Is there a specific period in which we can come on holiday? You can come whenever you like. Simply call us a few days in advance. Is Gautama a therapeutic community? We use Humaniversity Therapy, many of us are trainers or counselors according to the tenets of the Humaniversity in Holland. And we are the only sannyas center in Italy offering an effective program for treating addiction . But we are also a Meditation Center, a center for Holistic Wellbeing, and a beautiful place where many friends have chosen to live together. I like al the groups that you offer. How do I choose one? Generally there are two ways. You can go either towards the group that attracts you the most (because of the content, the title or even just the photo of the teacher); or towards the one that frightens you the most (because that' s where the teaching will be most useful). If you are still confused, you can book a free orientation session with one of our teachers or trainers. If I choose a group, do I have to do the whole training? No. Of course, following a whole training with that teacher for a longer time, makes you go deeper in the process of self-growth. It reinforces the changes and results that you obtain. But each group is a self-contained experience. Can I register for a group which is part of a training which has already started? Yes! Registration for the groups is always open and, as far as we have seen in years of activity, " new " people have no difficulty in integrating with previous participants. Who is Osho, and what has he got to do with Gautama? Osho is an enlightened spiritual master, and he is the main inspiration behind our living together and behind our work. We don’t expect you to be or to become a disciple of Osho in order to participate in our activities. Each person’s spiritual choices are fully respected. Which type of food and accommodation do you offer? You may choose to sleep in the commune’s dormitory or you may book a single or double room, with or without a private bathroom. The rooms are few, so they have to be booked rather early. The food is basically vegetarian but from time to time we offer a choice of fish or meat.
